Mount Eden Kitchen Front Retrofit

Mount Eden Kitchen Front Retrofit

April 24, 2019

This is the first kitchen front I’ve designed and built for a client who lives in a brick and tile house, in Mount Eden. The client wanted to bring some warmth into his home and decided to replace his existing kitchen drawers and cabinet panels made from melamine faux wood with our beautiful salvaged rimu timber.

He also asked me to design him new handles. He wanted a modern look with a pop of colour and easy to grip.

In order to increase the efficiency of reach, we decided the new handles would be placed at the top surface of the panels.

The existing hinges and drawer runners were re-used on the new kitchen panels to save cost and minimize wastage. The rimu was finished with a matte polyurethane and the handles were then powder coated with a retro blue colour.

Et voila! A retrofitted kitchen with bespoke features. Feel free to contact me at raimana@atelierjonesdesign.co.nz if you’d like any help to re-design your kitchen.
